Bertha Mae Ingram Robbins, 100, of Sumiton

Bertha Mae Ingram Robbins, 100, of Sumiton, died Monday, July 14, 2008, at her residence. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, at Sumiton Methodist Church with burial in McCormack Cemetery. Rev. Sherril Hill will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 until 9 p.m. Friday at the church. New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home will direct.

She was the oldest of 11 children in the family. She was a longtime member of Sumiton Methodist Church and was a member of the Sellers Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Garland Robbins; son, Raymond Eugene Robbins; parents, Lee Benjamin Ingram and Dera Ingram; five brothers; and one sister.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Jones and her husband, Wayne R., of Jasper, and Janie Robbins of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Meredith Leigh Jones Klapetkova and her husband, David Klapetek, of Opelika, Brandon Keith Jones and his wife, Jodi, of Tifton, Ga., and Britton Robbins Jones and his wife, Amy, of Philadelphia, Pa.; great-grandchildren, Matej Robert Klapetek, Jan David Klapetek, Laura Grace Jones, Avery Elisabeth Jones and Hayes Powell Jones; sisters, Cynthia Louise Ellard, Margaret Carolyn Fox and Joyce Virginia McCue; brother, Alvin C. Ingram; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

James Gary Whisenhunt, 56, of Sipsey

James Gary Whisenhunt, 56, of Sipsey, died Tuesday, July 16, 2008, at Baptist Medical Center-Princeton. There will be no visitation or services at this time. Bell Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

He is survived by his daughters, Sherry Allums and her husband, James, of Sipsey, and Gina Mix of Sipsey; grandchildren, Jonathon Allums, Zachary Allums, Nathan Whisenhunt, Jordan Whisenhunt, Alexander Mix, Morgan Whisenhunt and Paisley Mix, all of Sipsey; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mitchell Duell Dover Sr., 88, of Jasper, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Levi Sides will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Collins-Burke Funeral Home will direct.

He was preceded in death by his son, Mitchell Dover Jr.; parents, William Ben and Belle Gurganus Dover; and sister, Elizabeth Miller.

He is survived by his wife, Addie Lou Dover of Jasper; daughter, Betty J. Dozier and her husband, Robert, of Jasper; sons, Terry Michael Dover and his wife, Oveta, and Donald Ray Dover of Gadsden; sisters, Dorothy McLaughlin of Jasper and Doretta Barton of Atlanta, Ga.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
