Carlos Daugherty, 60, of Harpersville
Carlos Daugherty, 60, of Harpersville, formerly of Warrior, died Thursday, July
17, 2008, at his residence. There will be no visitation or services at this
time. Bell Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
He is survived by his mother, Dell Daugherty of Harpersville, also formerly of
Warrior; children, James Ray Daugherty and John Carl Daugherty, both of
Harpersville, and Lisa Daugherty of Mobile; sister, Carol McCutcheon of Warrior;
brothers, Donnie Daugherty and his wife, Cathy, of Dora, and Jason Ray and his
wife, Carolee, of Warrior; four grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and
friends.

Edna Lorene McGough Webster Shirey, 90, of Carbon Hill
Edna Lorene McGough Webster Shirey, 90, of Carbon Hill, passed from this life
July 15, 2008 at Ridgeview Healthcare Center. Funeral Services will be at 11
a.m. Saturday, July 19 at Collins-Burke Funeral Home with burial at Old Flat
Woods Cemetery in Nauvoo. Rev. Gene Smith will officiate. Visitation will be
from 6 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Collins-Burke Funeral Home will
direct.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, C. Howell Webster and Dr. Frank
Shirey; and precious great-grandson Jacob Johnson; and precious
great-great-grandson, Hayden Webster.
She was one of 13 happy children. Now in her Heavenly Home she joins her
parents, John Thomas and Etta Rutledge McGough, her sisters Ethel Vinson, Edra
Phillips, Vera Schaffer, Christine Fowler, Tommie Hicks and Frances Johnson, and
her brothers Alfred, Elbert, Joseph, James Grady, John Henry, and Jack McGough.
Their family circle is again complete.
She is survived by her two loving daughters and their husbands, Carolyn Webster
Nix and Dan Nix of Burnwell, and Linda Webster Johnson and Harlis Johnson of
Carbon Hill; granddaughters, Rhonda Johnson Sides, Dana Nix Moore and Connie Nix
Suits; grandsons, Michael Johnson, Johnny Johnson, Frank Johnson, James Johnson,
Jeffrey Nix and Matthew Nix. She is also survived by 24 dear great- and
great-great-grandchildren, and many other family members and friends.

81, of Jasper
Ellis “Buddy” Key, 81, of Jasper died Thursday, July 17, 2008, at Walker Baptist
Medical Center. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at
Collins-Burke Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Ronald Sanders
officiated. Collins-Burke Funeral Home directed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Ida Key; sisters, Loren Key and
Pearlie McGough; brother, William Key.
He is survived by his nephews, Junior Key and his wife, Joyce, Billy Wayne Key
and Charles Brock; nieces, Pam Rushing and her husband, Junior, and Lilly Mae
McGough; and a host of other relatives and friends.
